Mr.
Mills earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Notre Dame, an A.B. in
Liberal Arts from Stonehill College and a J.D.
from Suffolk University Law School. He is
registered to practice before the U.S. Patent
and Trademark Office and is admitted to the bars
of Massachusetts and New York. He is also
a member of the American Bar Association, the
Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Patent
Law Association, the American Intellectual Property
Law Association, Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu and
Sigma Zeta.
Mr. Mills has several years of technical
engineering experience. He was employed
by RCA Corporation in Burlington, Massachusetts
as a design engineer, where he participated in
the design and manufacture of electronic processing
and communication systems. He was also employed
by Raytheon Company of Lexington, Massachusetts
as a design engineer, where he was in involved
in the design, analysis, and integration of digital,
analog and microwave circuitry in radar communication
systems.
Since entering the intellectual property law field,
Mr. Mills has been involved in a wide range of
patent and trademark matters, including U.S. and
foreign patent prosecution, patent validity, infringement
and licensing matters, corporate transactions,
and opposition and litigation proceedings.
His areas of technical concentration include the
electrical, optical, computer, mechanical and
physical arts. In particular, he has prepared
and prosecuted patent applications involving,
for example, semiconductor devices and device
fabrication processes and technology, electronic
circuits and systems, computer hardware including
microprocessor and peripheral devices and architecture,
Internet software and applications, massively
parallel computing systems, communications systems,
pattern recognition, artificial intelligence,
imaging systems including computed tomography
and ultrasound systems for medical diagnostics
and materials detection, medical instruments and
testing and monitoring equipment for therapeutic
and diagnostic applications, optical devices and
systems including MEMS devices and photonic crystals,
optical networks and transport devices and systems,
lasers, remote sensing and measuring devices,
and mechanical devices and systems. |
